General “Mad” Anthony Wayne Day

The Chapter Color Guard, along with other Chapter compatriots, recently participated in the annual General “Mad” Anthony Wayne Day held in Fort Wayne.  General Wayne, the city’s namesake, is recognized each year on the anniversary of the Battle of Stony Point, NY where General Wayne successfully led a “bayonets only” charge at midnight against a British garrison on the Hudson River.  The Fort Wayne City Council voted on February 26, 2019 to honor General Wayne on July 16th each year in celebration of General Wayne’s leadership during the Revolutionary War.
